Gurinder, Father Yod, and Dreams neuralsurfer
(45/M/Point Panic) 7/22/01 5:50 am
I agree CTD that Gurinder is showing signs of being extraordinarily
manipulative as a guru--from property to controlling funds/satsangs to
memos about cheese/internet to spot checks at various satsangs to name
changes......... the list goes on.
I remember the day Charan died and I heard word that night that Gurinder was appointed.
Right there and then I got a very bitter taste in my mouth.
I knew something was amiss.
First, it confirmed (without a doubt) that Beas was a FAMILY succession..... despite protestations to the contrary.
Second, when I heard of Gurinder's acceptance speech (shortly thereafter) it sounded hollow and forced and plagiaristic (a bad retread of Charan's much more honest and transparent acceptance).
Third, I started having very odd dreams about Gurinder.
These dreams were almost invariably the same.
Gurinder would be giving a satsang but always PLAYING towards the crowd (trying to make jokes, etc.).
Now this must have arisen because I always thought that Charan never did play to the crowd.
Finally when I had my interview with Gurinder I felt a peculiar sense of insecurity on his part.... as if he had a chip on his shoulder.
One example:
I said to Gurinder, "so how are you feeling? Is everybody treating you okay."
Gurinder replied (somewhat uptight I thought):
"Don't I look trim and fit?"
Hmmmmmm....
Wasn't competing with the question but he seemed to take it that way.....
He was nice enough and clearly he is a very bright fellow (smarter, not necessarily wiser, than any guru I have ever met).
But when I saw him in Palm Springs playing to the crowd and appropriating quotes and clichés from others (without acknowledging them) I realized that my dreams (I had hundreds of them) were right on the money.....
Now the kicker for me was this:
There was once this rabidly fraudulent guru named FATHER YOD (disciple of Yogi Bhajan) who I used to know.... One day he went on a tirade about "how do you know I am perfect" and so on.... basically playing games with the notion of gurus and perfect gurus and how nobody really knew....
Well, for me, a guru who doesn't really buy that he is a guru NEVER indulges in this kind of talk precisely because they don't never take themselves to be a Master or Enlightened.
Yod did it precisely because he was a poser.
Well, Gurinder in Palm Springs does the SAME EXACT talk (just like Yod) about Masters and the like.
Right there and then (again) I knew something was off key, wrong, misguided.
I have never seen Gurinder since that point.
I think Gurinder should quit the charade and let everyone go home and tend to their kids and gardens.
Petaluma Project?
Why not just tell people a much greater truth:
Stay at home, make some lemonade and play with your kids.
Hey, Gurinder, why don't you stop traveling first class around the world and go play soccer with your kids.
Then I might be impressed with your "God" ship.
