NOTES ON
ORIGIN AND GROWTH

ORIGIN AND GROWTH  is the RS-Beas publication which was once freely distributed but
has now been recalled according to information  from David Lane's Web Page  http://www.mtsac.edu/~dlane/beas.html .  The book is not copyrighted and does not contain
a publication date.  It is not really a book, but rather a compilation of  legal documents
detailing how RS-Beas is organized and set up.  As such, is is perhaps the only publication
from RS-Beas that consists of straight forward factual information untainted with propaganda.
This document is a great research tool because it gives the names and addresses of all
who were involved in the original organization as well as a straightforward statement of goals
and objectives of the organization.

The HTML version of Origin and Growth we present here was prepared by running the
book through an OCR  text scanner.  Therefore, you may find some typical scanner errors such as
reading the letter "o" as the number "6" and so on.  Most of them have been fixed, but a few
may have slipped by.

Note 1:  You will note throughout the document that persons with degrees (Doctor, Lawyer, etc.)
are listed as such.  However, whenever Charan Singh's name appears, no degree is listed and
his occupation is given as "farmer".  This is puzzling because it is claimed that Charan Singh
was a Lawyer and also had an additional degree in "arts".  If true, you would think that he would
be identified as such in the legal documents of the organization since everyone else is so identified.

Note 2:  On page 23 you will find Kirpal Singh listed with his duties which include giving
Satsangs.  Note that Satsang is defined here as "sermons and preachings" (just like as in any
garden variety Church).

Note 3:  There are several references to persons with the last name "Chand" - Tirlok Chand
and Dewan Chand are two.  Wonder about the relationship to Faqir Chand.

Note 4:  Check out the specific language in "Terms of Allotment" which begins on page 58.
Note the use of the word subservient in the document.  This word appears elsewhere also.
"Anyone who is not subservient is to be turned out".  It should be clear what type of person
RS-Beas wants as a member:  They do not want true seekers of wisdom - they want slaves
who will remain forever "subservient".
