In "Call of the Great Master" the RS Technique is said to be a method
by which one may
"meet God face to face" while still alive and healthy. That sounds
like a great technique,
but let's look at how things are in real life.
Basically, this is the technique:
One is given two postures (asanas) to use but they are difficult for
anyone who does not
practice yoga so you are told they are not really necessary and so
most people do not use
them. So, in some comfortable position you are supposed to silently
chant your mantra.
Also you are supposed to listen for various sounds. Chanting
the mantra is supposed to
cause the "third eye" to open at which point you will see the master.
Beyond this point,
there are no instructions given because the master is supposed to take
charge, answer all
your questions, and take you on trips through all the planes of existence
until you finally, as
promised, "meet God face to face".
Let's start with the sound. Now the sounds actually do exist,
however essentially no one
using the RS Technique ever hears them. This was more or less
admitted by our
Representative one day when he was giving a talk. In discussing
the sound, he commented,
"Now in listening to the sound - or perhaps I should say listening
for the sound..."
Now for the third eye and the master. The third eye is real but
the "master inside"
is not. We know from the testimony of Baba Faqir Chand
that the master one sees
inside is simply a creation of the students mind and and has no separate
reality.
We also know from experimental evidence that a student will see anything
that
he is programmed to believe is a master even when no such being exists
or has ever
existed, e.g., Rebezar Tarzs.
Consequently, although some satsangis may see something that looks like
the master
inside, it is just a thought or thought form. Consequently it
cannot answer questions
or take you on trips to other planes. Incidentally, if someone
were to really see
Charan Singh as an astral form they would see a young man of about
30 years old
because the astral body does not age beyond that. They would
probably not
even recognize him.
Since few people hear sounds and even fewer claim to see the master
inside,
the emphasis of the teachings has now been watered down. Lately,
the
"official speakers" have been laying emphasis on what they call "incessant
simran",
which means that you should chant your mantra constantly during every
waking
moment. The original RS teachings stated that simran was a temporary
phase
of the technique and was no longer necessary at all once you "reached
the third eye".
Apparently it is no longer anticipated that you will ever reach the
third eye.
The final "lure" to keep members faithful even though they are not having
the
experiences originally promised is the promise that the master will
definitely
come to help them when they die. What can we find out about
this.
Below is a quote from a news group which was sent in by a graduate from
the Monroe Institute:
"Comment: " As a Native American-trained shaman and graduate of the
Monroe
Institute's programs, I must caution anyone from going into the 'light'
upon death.
It is NOT what it seems to be. Your memory is scanned as you near death
to see
who you'd feel comfortable in seeing upon your last gasp. This image
is projected
to lure you into the light where your memory will be tampered with.
My advice is
to go to the left, to the right or turn around and go the other way,
but to enter the
'light' is to fall for a trap."
So satsangies probably will see their master at the time of death -
just like people
who have bought a picture Jesus will see that image. Everyone
will see something
that will make them want to follow it - but they all end up in the
same place unless
they are personally adept enough to select a different place.
To conclude, I wish to quote Baba Faqir Chand again from "Truth Always
Wins"
Chapter 6:
"O man, your own mind is your Guru and the follower. Understand
this secret from the Sat Sang of the realized man. Entertain nobel
and constructive thoughts and make your life. None can help you.
Even a saint who dwells in the light and sound cannot do anything for
you. I dwell in the light and
sound, but I cannot do anything for you. After a long struggle,
I have reached the stage of complete
surrender to Him. It is all your faith."
