Served as team leader to implement
Peoplesoft Project Management for a nationally known U.S.
public utility. Directed the project data mapping from
their legacy system and provided quality assurance for
its conversion integrity. Mapped the
charts of account for ten newly acquired subsidiaries
from J.D. Edwards to Peoplesoft.
Provided
accounting, reporting and training services to a
cross-border equipment-leasing company during its
implementation of Microsoft Great Plains accounting
software and its setup of Canadian and US payroll
policies and procedures.
Assisted a local high-tech
enterprise in exporting its accounting data from Platinum
to QuickBooks Pro. Provided staff training and direction
to reconstruct twenty months of data to produce
consolidated financial statements. Currently
serve as the out-sourced controller.
Designed and tested system
enhancements for a $4 billion client to calculate and
journalize direct labour allocations from timesheets,
cost of sales accruals based on purchase order percentage
of completion, and import expense claims from
non-integrated systems.
Trained
the staff of a TSE listed medical software company to do
financial account analyses in preparation for the annual
audit.
Edited an arbitration factum to help
a client win a $750,000 settlement.
Reconstructed seven years of
accounting records for preparation of a voluntary
disclosure to Revenue Canada.
Assisted in preparing numerous
three-year business plans for a client's public offering.

dollar, environmental, high-tech, energy conservation company

Successfully
restaffed and trained a six-member accounting department
to support the company's rapid transition from a fee for
service business to energy performance contracting.
Restructured the accounting software
to improve account allocation accuracy on a system with
over 1,000 accounts, 38 departments and over 2,000
projects.
Worked with the CIO to redesign the
accounting and project management software to increase
the scope and accuracy of financial reporting and restore
management's faith in the reliability of the system.
Developed and managed beta testing
procedures for software enhancements to ensure data
integrity and accuracy of reporting.
Successfully managed the conversion
of the newly acquired, Vancouver affiliate's accounting
and project management and trained its controller on the
new system.
Created a computerized system to
allow staff to submit expense claims online from
satellite offices across the country, reducing the
average reimbursement time from two months to two hours.
Created an online purchase order
requisition system to generate purchase orders in two
days instead of two weeks.
Wrote payroll software to
automatically post payrolls to employee files, prepare
journal entries, compute vacation and sick pay accruals,
and prepare T-4's, reducing annual labour cost by
approximately $20,000.
Designed new cash planning models to
electonically report daily cash activity and circulate
aged collections lists by client or project manager.
Developed financial account analysis
templates to reduce the annual audit fieldwork from two
months to two weeks and produce interim financial
statements by the 15th of each month.

A twenty member
consulting firm providing information management services to law
firms, corporate legal departments, and government ministries.
Provided interim controllership
services for a 10-lawyer firm with special emphasis on
management reporting and staff training.
Automated the firm's time and
billing process to eliminate duplicative typing of
invoices by secretaries and complete the invoicing
process by the 3rd of each month instead of the 20th.
Doubled the firm's revenue in one
year with no increase in the number of staff. Introduced
cash management, budgeting, monthly financial statements,
break-even analysis and lawyer time accountability
analysis. Reduced unbilled work-in-process from eight
months to two months. Helped to negotiate a multi-million
dollar line of credit. Hired and
trained the firm's present controller.
Developed software to streamline
lawyers' production of Affidavits of Documents for court
trials.
Wrote software to index off-site
storage of closed client files.
Wrote "Adopt a Work of
Art" software to administer the launch of a new wing
for the Art Gallery of Ontario.
Assisted in the design and writing
of a Production Cost Accounting System for McGraw-Hill
