Survivor John: It seems like it was about an hour. It was a long and hard Challenge. Visitor: What was the diet, other than crabs? Survivor John: Sea snails, coconut, various plants and prime rib--not! Visitor: Did the money really mean all that much, or was it the Challenge? Survivor John: Quite honestly, I didn't think about the money enough, or I would have played more strategically. I was enjoying the experience and living the adventure of a lifetime. Visitor: Have you been asked for autographs on the street? How does it feel? Survivor John: It's kind of funny, but I understand it because I've gotten autographs before myself from other people. It's all part of it. I'm glad to make someone happy. Visitor: Who was your favorite and least favorite tribe mate? Survivor John: Everybody had great qualities, and I really wasn't there long enough to dislike anyone. Visitor: John, I was sad to see you go last night. I think you could have brought a lot to the team! What is your best memory of the trip? Best of luck to you! Survivor John: That's a very nice question; thank you very much. My best memory was working as a team in the Challenge and watching the distance grow between us and the young, cocky Sook Jai tribe. The sweet smell of victory hung in the air and it was indescribable, but it ain't over 'til it's over. Visitor: When watching yourself on TV, did you feel like you were portrayed accurately? Survivor John: I think the editing was fair. Visitor: John, it looked like the producers gave you guys a lot more tools than previous shows. What was the best thing they gave you? Survivor John: A cane knife to cut open the coconut. Visitor: How different is SURVIVOR from what we see on TV? Survivor John: It's a lot longer! Other than that, you pretty much get an accurate picture. I will say this, though: it is a lot easier to be an armchair quarterback on Friday morning from your living room than it is to be in game thousands of miles away. Visitor: Do you think that you would have been able to last all 39 days? Survivor John: I've fasted for two weeks, I completed the L.A. marathon, I've spent countless hours hunting, fishing and camping. I think my entire tribe knew that I would have easily made it 39 days--a fact which a now more experienced John Raymond would have hidden. Visitor: Did you consider making an alliance with anyone? Survivor John: Sure, but that's a scary thing to attempt. If you do it too quickly you come off as scheming, and if you don't do it quickly enough you end up the first one to do a SURVIVOR chat! Visitor: John, what are your future plans after this SURVIVOR thing wraps up? Survivor John: I appreciate this question. One survey showed that we're the fourth fastest growing church in the country. We travel around and conduct church growth conferences. I plan to be very busy continuing that, and taking advantage of every opportunity to spend with my wife and children. If other speaking opportunities come my way I'll be happy to consider them. I love to write songs and look forward to my first cut. SURVIVOR Host: Well, everyone, our time with John is up.
