The Birla Institute of Technolgy & Science (BITS), Pilani was founded in 1964 with the support of MIT, Boston. It is a Deemed University. The highly competitive and culturally vibrant campus atmosphere reflects the diversity of the student population. BITS, Pilani has modelled its education system on the American education pattern and has adopted the semester system, modular structure of courses, continuous and internal evaluation, letter grading etc. Now ranked as one of the best Technology Uniersities in Asia, BITS produces some of India's finest Science, Engineering and Management graduates.

The Rensselaer School was established in Troy, New York, in 1824 by Stephen Van Rensselaer "for the purpose of instructing persons ... in the application of science to the common purposes of life" (letter from Stephen Van Rensselaer to Samuel Blatchford, November 5, 1824). It is "...the first school of science and school of civil engineering, which has had a continuous existence, to be established in any English-speaking country". In 1833 the school became the Rensselaer Institute, and in the 1850s its purpose was broadened to become a polytechnic institution. The name was changed in 1861 to the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The Institute is currently a technological university comprised of five schools: Architecture, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management, and Science. .

Chinmaya Mission was founded in 1953 by devotees of Swami Chinmayananda in India. They formed the nucleus of a movement of spiritual rennaissance that now encomppasses a wide range of spiritual, educational and charitable activities, ennobling the lives of thousands in India and outside its shores.

An independent, non-profit organisation, Simba Primary School was founded in 1980. Today, Simba has its own Secondary School, and offers a high quality British-based international education to over 330 primary and 200 secondary students. Set in beautiful garden surroundings, Simba School has established a reputation for being one of the finest independent private schools in Zambia, with an impressive academic tradition.
