Channel 9 are always claiming to be setting high standards for their quality programming. However, I believe that their NRL Rugby League coverage is not as it should be presented to fans and viewers alike, especially when many viewers are loyal to the sport they love, and would do anything for it.More so for those who are passionate about the code but live in other States and areas apart from Sydney and Brisbane.Rugby League followers nation wide are forced to constanly put up with inadequate telecasts and telecast times of games that this network have paid rights to show the public.With constant claims,upon asking why,they say that this code of sport just doesnt rate.Well we all know this is is a load of hogwash.Why on earth would a network pay millions to have the rights to show the ANY sport if it doesnt rate??

The reason I compiled this site was the culmination of many unanswered emails and the same old standard issue message when anyone telephones the network for a please explain.Actually,you will find that this is probably the reason why Channel 9 DO NOT advertise an email adress on their official website.They claim all complaints must be made in writing!!

As consumers, we have many daily demands, and as viewers, we essentially are the people that buy the products from sponsors who advertise during ad breaks within the telecast.This just isnt possible if this network continues to show Rugby League in other parts of Australia, other than Sydney and Brisbane,at ridiculous hours of the morning or even on occations, the next day sometime,as the common working man and woman will video tape this game and fast forward all ads during play back!!

If Channel 9 can't meet their simple task of giving the public what they want, I ask you, why do they bother in the first place? Well, probably because they want their not so popular "Wide World of Sports" to include Rugby League,and given their rescent aquisition of rights to show the AFL in the year 2002 and beyond,one can only imagine the road Rugby League will take with this network. Network 10 or Foxtel would be happy to show these programs.Rugby League is in the top 10 sports events televised in the world,with its World Cup,Grand Finals here and abroad and State Of Origin programes and even the Grand Final of the year 2001 that ISNT being shown live to most capitals in Australia,will be seen LIVE by millions of punters the world over. It deserves the proper coverage, and Channel 9 are yet to fully deliver.

I ask of Channel 9,and the NRL as well,that everyone who wants to see a game of Rugby League on the television, is not to be treated as third-rate citizens. Without us as viewers, Rugby League in general,and other sports for that matter,would find it hard to exist on a national or international basis and remain financial. We are the ones that must write/email/telephone to Channel 9 and tell them how terrible their coverage really is.If your upset with the way you are being treated then it is your right to complain to them and it should be their obligation to at least reply in a satisfactory manner!
