THE RUGBY LEAGUE CO-OP REFLECTS ON THE HISTORY OF THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL CALLED "STATE OF ORIGIN"

V
State Of Origin is regarded as the best Rugby League played in the world today played between the two main Rugby League playing rival states in Australia - Queensland and New South Wales. It started in 1980 as a trial game and has never looked back. The State Of Origin concept is,that you are eligible to play for a state/region,where you played your first senior rugby league. Previously, it was the location/state where you were currently playing. This caused many one sided affairs as most Queenslanders played in the elite NSW competition. Since that time State Of Origin has generated some of the best games of rugby league in Australia and if not,the world.
Head to Head (1980-2001) both sides have played of against each other 62 times with 31 wins to QLD and 30 to NSW with one drawn game. The series as a whole(1982-2001) has been played out 19times with Qld having taken the series out 9 times and NSW taking it out also 9 time with 1 ties series.
