Questions I1 was intended to help isolate web-based readers and usenet-based readers. I'm interested in folks that use web forums to the exclusion of usenet newsgroups. Unfortunately, I'm still running into some difficulties with misunderstandings about the differences between usenet and web groups and Google groups. I'm adding qualifiers regarding Google groups and web forums in next year's questionnaire, in the hopes that will improve matters. For now, adding J9 to the selection criteria helped a lot, but a few usenet readers got through, so I had to add I5 and I10 to the selection criteria. This might be overly harsh, but given the large sampling population, I could afford the losses. The end result is that there were 246 returns that I would consider web-based.
The number of recorded returns is down a lot from last year's 346. I think this can be attributed to the 30% loss from software problems at Geocites/Yahoo.
These results can also be found at
http://www.oocities.org/ruigarashi/Surveys/fans/fan0410/results_web.html
Past questionnaire results can be found at:
http://www.oocities.org/ruigarashi/Surveys/fans/results.html
For each question, I've tabulated the raw count and the percentage of total returns for each of the possible responses. I've added a "blank" entry to round out the totals. Some questions had multiple responses, so don't expect all tallies to come to 100%.
Enjoy.
