Military officers attack police office
MAKASSAR (Antara): Some 20 officers at the Indonesian Military (TNI) attacked
Sunday a police office in West Sulawesi, wounding three police officers.
The incident, which took place in Mambuliling District Police, Polewali Mandar, West
Sulawesi, was triggered by a complaint from a fisherman that a TNI officer requested
illegal fees from him.
The police managed to detain the TNI officer and file a report with the Military Police.
Instead of following up the police report, some angry TNI officers ambushed a police
office as part of retaliation measures. (***)
