Police strengthen security in border areas between Central and
East Java
BOJONEGORO, East Java (Antara): East Java police have deployed nearly a hundred
of police officers to prevent terror suspects from escaping to the province, following the
arrests of several terror suspects in Central Java and Yogyakarta.
"We have carried out the operation for three days," operation head Comr. Haryono
was quoted by Antara news agency as saying Saturday, adding that operations were
also carried out in other suspected areas in the regency.
He said Bojonegoro could become a hideout for terrorists, who may ran away from
Central Java and Yogyakarta.
During the operation, the police officers are also authorized to seize sharp weapons
and explosive materials. (**)
