The NH Capital Area XC Championship
This is one of the premiere races on the schedule every year. In 2000 it was held on one of the hardest courses in NH. The Belmont High School course is extremly tough.  You start and finish on a track but that's the only flat part in the whole race. You have to run up a steep 600m hill twice and run down muddy hills that force you to run slow.
The team still ran great. Zach Emerson had one of his best races of the year with his 6th place finish and getting Capial Area First Team honors while being the first under-classman to cross the line. James Stafford recieved Capital Area Honorable Mention for his top 25 finish. With Zach's fast finish he will be one of the favorites to win the Belmont Invite and Capital Area Titles next year.
The team finished 9th out of all the Area Schools. Not bad considering we ran with some schools that are four times larger than HDHS. Great Job Team!
