The Manchester Invite is an annual celebration of the sport of cross-country where over 2,500 high school runners come to Manchester, NH to compete on one of the hardest courses in the East. The groups are broken up into two school size categories, Large and Small, and then into two quality groups, A and B. The best overall teams run in the elite team race and that's the smallest race of the day with only 200 people in it. Hillsboro-Deering was in the Small School A race which had over 300 runners. In this race some of the best runners in the East ran. Our race was the fastest of the day and produced the best winning time. Our small team did well. Zach Emerson got a medal for finishing in the top 50 and James Stafford and Josh Costa recieved ribbons for finishing in the top 100. All three ran P.R.s on the tough Derryfield Park course. Great job team. |
