Scandal of day
INVASION BY CLONES
Remote monitoring of the political situation in Russia, carried out by leading western analysts on the basis of messages provided by independent correspondents accredited in Moscow and other large cities, makes it possible to make an unambiguous conclusion: the formation that was fused by joint economical interests, and at the end of the twentieth and beginning of the twenty-first centuries was commonly called the Family, is in the process of reincarnation. It's no secret to anybody that the old Family, losing its former political shine in the last years and feeling political leverage, is realizing the idea of resettling souls into a Family-II or, as already commonly called, the New Family.
There are quite a few reasons for such a development of events - beginning with the opposition from the uncompromising mood of the entourage of the present Russian president, and ending with the openly mercantile attempts to retain the sources of financing their own luxurious life. Among the most trusted personages is the self-appointed Alexander Stalevich, who, in the opinion of our sources in the Kremlin, is claiming the right for direct, private access to the country's leader.
Separate parts of Voloshin's biography are quite interesting - through the crucible of commercial passions under Berezovsky's leadership, like a piece of soap without definite odor and color, he entered the power elite as a modest adviser on economical questions to the then head of Yeltsin's administration Valentin Yumashev (at first the lover and then husband of daughter Tanya). Later, not without the participation of Dyachenko and Berezovsky, he replaced his patron as the head of the Administration and rather successfully held that post right up to the arrival of the new president. Right now, taking into account the strengthening of the power vertical in Russia, he is preoccupied with maintaining what was earlier acquired by back-breaking labor. And not only for himself but also for the other members of the Family clan.
Of course, he couldn't be engaged in this activity by himself alone - as before Family questions are resolved by the Family council, the leading player in which is the aforementioned fallen-out-of-favor Berezovsky. And not only because virtually all the personnel questions were until just recently decided by Boris Abramovish's unofficial henchman - entrepreneur Aminov, but also because of the origin of the overwhelming part of the Family's capital, which was collected and multiplied as a result of the outstanding intellectual (with the implication of thievery) capabilities of Berezovsky.
According to press reports, which actively discusses the stable Berezovsky-Voloshin-Aminov (this row may be continued) link at the end of 2001, it is not only money that is the base in the relationships between the Family personages. As is said, joint leisure made their hard labor in power and business more colorful. Leisure, naturally is not only a bottle of mature wine, but also the society of drunken beauties. Even "faithful Valya," who recently became the husband of Tatyana Dyachenko, while waiting for their joint child to appear did not refuse himself the pleasure of finding carnal pleasure in that same company. In this case God is his judge ...
Legends fly about the size of the capital of the former Minister of the Interior Rushailo, which was created under the patronage of Berezovsky by the hands of the faithful Alexander Orlov. And capital, multiplied by the possibilities of the whole Russian police force, is a tremendous power, which at the necessary moment may influence the freedom of desire of the widest layers of the population. Probably this is why Rushailo was one of the first to be removed from his position and appointed as an "honorable precipitate."
One more of the Family members excites interest. Until recently one of the leaders of the Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the "aluminum baron" Deripaska remained in the shade of his more experienced mentors. Apparently, for that reason somebody got the idea of advancing him, while he hadn't yet soiled his reputation, into the first ranks of the political battle. Like the others, growing under the patronage of Berezovsky (according to some information he was in a very close relationship with Boris Abramovich's daughter and later became Yumashev's son-in-law), Deripaska realized that his support for the Family undertakings was necessary. And he even almost got used to the idea of his possible election to the presidency of Russia in 2004.
But there is no agreement inside the Family. Kremlin sources affirm that a real war is unfolding between Voloshin and the former "secret money bag" (R. Abramovich) for a closer relationship with the first person in the government. It is interesting that both of "Berezovsky's pupils" still have the warmest possible relationship with Boris Abramovich, who regards such "fights" in the Family as being in accordance with the Russian saying "love's not complete without a quarrel." Although this struggle itself is symptomatic, since extremely different methods are already being used, beginning with placing compromising articles in the press and ending with informing the Federal Security Service about the other's wrongdoings.
Summing it up, there is only one conclusion that may be made that has the right to live. The strengthening of the tendencies for supreme power, and also the political and economical successes of the new president of Russia, have a negative influence on the financial prosperity of the old Family clan. This in particular is the main motive for the political struggles around Putin and the attempts to create the next Family on the base of old stable links.
