FAMILY SECRETS
According to information obtained from informed sources in Russia, B. Berezovsky, who stands in "uncompromising opposition" to the President of Russia, has recently begun to have doubts about the position he had chosen and has begun to look for people who can help him to establish a truce with the Authorities. More than anything else, the disgraced oligarch was disappointed with the Family members' behavior, to be more precise, the behavior of the New Family, the base of which consists of T. Yumasheva (Dyachenko), V. Yumashev and young businessman O. Deripaska (the husband of Yumashev's daughter by his first marriage).
The New Family is doing its best to demonstrate devotion to Putin. One of the examples of such devotion should, according to the New Family's idea, be reprisal against the disgraced mass-media oligarchs - Gusinsky and Berezovsky. All the available Family resources have been put in use for this purpose. The first has already been overthrown and the second is moving further and further away, despite the loud cries about his supposedly being a victim of political intrigue. Meanwhile, the New Family (that not too long ago used to be the closest friends of the oligarch) pretend that nothing wrong is going on.
This kind of treachery unsettled the credulous Berezovsky, who having begun his war campaign, hoped to get not only the wild approval of the Family, but also fertile joint work.
Now, understanding that he is standing in the forepost alone, Berezovsky has begun to seek for any opportunity to have his sins forgiven and to hush up the whole story. Cries like "Federal Security Service is blowing up Russia" are continuing so that his numerous fellow-fighters, who in reality don't share the oligarch's views but are eager to get as much money from him as possible, won't be frightened off.
As we have learned, one of the possible trophies that Berezovsky is ready to grant to the President is some terrible materials compromising Chubais, that are in the hands of the New Family. With the help of this information, the members of the New Family hope to manipulate the boss of the energy system in their interests. According to one of the versions, the New Family sees Chubais as the successor to today's President, but in contrast to Putin, he'll be a controllable and predictable leader.
In any case, in some inconceivable way Berezovsky managed to get those compromising documents and now he has several opportunities. The first is to try to beg the President for absolution. The second is to make the New Family change their orientation, making threats with the compromising documents, and the third - to bury all hopes of the Family (and of Chubais as well) by publishing those materials in the Russian and foreign mass media.
Time will show what Berezovsky chooses…
