Now as I do lay down in my bed,
With Teddy and Angel watching over head.
Making sure my dreams are all so sweet,
With puppy laying just underneath.
All pooped out from my days hard play,
But knowing I am safe as long as they stay.
My Mommy told me once, but I forgot,
What is it Angels do that I do not.
Oh yes, now I remember well,
So in your ear the secret I will tell.
They wash their face, even behind their ears,
Brush their teeth and never cry tears.
They say their prayers without being told,
No rolling down hills chancing their halo.
They don't play hide and seek for you to find,
Always right with you just one step behind.
So tomorrow when puppy and I arise.
They will still be there with watchful eyes,
As we romp through the valley another day,
In make believe worlds we often play.
But come bed time same as before,
Turn off the light and close the door.
For Teddy and Angel will watch over me,
Poor puppy still pooped laying underneath.
