Mill Creek (Venango Co.)
Mill Creek is a small stream with Kahle lake as a starting point on the border of Venango and Clarion County.  There is very limited access to Mill Creek.  The First access is along Route 38 near the entrance to Kahle Lake.  Mill Creek can also be accessed by secondary road T357, a road off of Route 38.. The lower end can be reached by secondary road T524.  This is were Mill Creek enters the Allegheny River. The stream flows through a very remote canyon with lots of good fishable water only reached by a good hike.  Be prepared to cross the stream many times if you decide to fish the more remote water.

Mill Creek is usually stocked twice a year, once before season and once in season.  There are a good deal of caddisflies and midges that hatch on Mill Creek.  Most of the insect activity occurs on the lower end of the stream.  A general purpose fly like an Adams works well for rising fish, and various nymphs and wet flies also work well.

There is also an Iron furnace just up stream from where T524 meets Mill creek. It is moderate hike approx 1 1/2 miles upstream from the mouth.  The furnace is in good conditon and is well worth the hike.
