Episode 64: Slideshow
Raxl: "Maljardin becomes shrouded in the darkness of night. A
fateful night when Holly and her mother were about to leave the Island. But as
they prepare to part they find the boat missing. Together they return to the
fate that awaits them in the mansion of evil."
Jean Paul walks with Erica back down the staircase. "What have you
done Jacques Eloi Des Mondes? I want that boat returned. I want these people
seen to safety."
Erica smiles as she and Jean Paul walk over to Holly and
Elizabeth. "It's alright Jean Paul.
We can stay here tonight then leave in the morning if you insist." Holly says to
him. "Holly you will not stay, you
will leave the Island tonight."
"But that's impossible Jean Paul. The boat has disappeared." Erica says
to him. Raxl enters from the
outdoors, she closes the door. "Quito is searching for the boat. He will find
it." "Holly, Elizabeth come with
me. You will stay in your rooms until the boat is here." Jean Paul tells them as
he steps away. "Come on Holly."
Elizabeth calls to her as she walks over to Jean Paul. "No I want to talk to Erica." "Holly do as I ask." Elizabeth tells
her. "Holly dear, I knew you
wouldn't leave without showing some sign of affection to Jean Paul and me."
Erica says putting her arms around Holly's shoulders. "Erica stay away from that girl." Jean
Paul says walking up to them.
"Really Jean Paul you act as if we weren't the best of friends." "I didn't want to leave Erica. You know
that, but I had to." says Holly.
"Holly you must listen to me. We're leaving together to start a new
life." Elizabeth says walking over to Holly. "All right mother if you say so." "How can you be so cruel. To make a
young girl who wanted to spend a few minutes with a
friend." Erica says to Elizabeth.
"Erica." Jean Paul warns.
"Come on." Erica says as she start to lead Holly away. "We'll go to my
room and talk, and you can tell me about your plans for the future." "Erica! You will not touch her or be
with her." Jean Paul says walking up to them. "Strange behavior Jean Paul. You act as
if I intend to harm Holly." "No,
no! I won't stay in this house! I'm going to get away! I don't know how but
Holly and I have to get away from this house!" Elizabeth becomes upset. "Elizabeth now listen to me, it's
impossible to leave this house now." Jean Paul says gripping Elizabeth's shoulders. "No we've got to get away! No Jean Paul
please! We've got to get away!"
"Listen." "No we've got to
get away!" "Listen to me Elizabeth,
there's no way to cross the channel until Quito locates the boat!" Jean Paul
shouts at her. "Then I'll drown!
And I'll take Holly with me!" Elizabeth shouts hysterically. "Elizabeth stop it!" Jean Paul shouts as
he slaps her. Elizabeth starts to
cry. "Mother are you all right?"
Holly asks. "She'll be just fine."
says Erica. Jean Paul puts his arm
around Elizabeth. "No I won't be fine until I'm away from you. Holly don't you
understand she's evil! You're falling under the spell of Satan!" Elizabeth
starts to cry as she turns to Jean Paul. He holds her. Jean Paul leads her to a
chair and helps her sit down. He kneels next to her as she cries. Holly looks at Elizabeth. "Mother." Jean Paul takes a hold of Elizabeth's
shoulders. "Elizabeth? Elizabeth. Raxl help me get
her upstairs." Jean Paul says glancing at Raxl. Raxl and Jean Paul lift her up
out of the chair. "Holly come with us."
Holly steps forward. "Stay. Stay here with me." Erica says to her. Elizabeth is sobbing on the
staircase. "Mother." Holly calls
out to her. "You heard the Master,
come." Raxl tells Holly. Holly
walks towards them and follows her mother and Jean Paul up the staircase. Raxl looks back at Erica. "You can use
your wickedness as you please but you shall not have this girl." Raxl says then
turns and follows the others. Erica
rushes over to the bottom of the staircase. "It's Holly's life or mine. And I
want to live!" she shouts. "Jacques Eloi Des Mondes do you hear me! You must not
break that promise that I shall live!"
Quito is in the boathouse carrying a lantern. He looks around the
boathouse then sets the lantern down. He turns and leaves the boathouse. Jacques
laughter is heard through the boathouse as the lantern is levitated into the
air. It start swinging then drops. A fire starts spreading through the
boathouse.
In Elizabeth's room Jean Paul, Holly and Raxl stand around the
bed. Elizabeth is sleeping. "I've given her a sedative. She'll be able to sleep
now." Jean Paul says walking away from the bed. "Holly she'll be alright now
believe me." "Are you sure?" Holly
asks rushing over to Jean Paul.
"Your mother is a strong woman." says Raxl. "Raxl will stay with you until the boat
is found. It must have drifted off somewhere. Under the moorings. I think the
currant probably cast it away. It will probably be found on some shore
somewhere." Jean Paul says walking up to the window. "I don't understand. Quito was always
very careful to have the boat tied securely. It must be the work of the devil!"
Raxl says. Looking outside Jean
Paul's face shows shock as he opens the window. "Raxl the boathouse it's on
fire!" Raxl and Holly rush to the
window. "Quito!" Raxl says. "The
Island is like tinder. The flames will spread!" says Jean Paul rushing away from
the window. He and Raxl rush to the door. Jean Paul turns. "Holly now listen.
Stay her and lock this door! And promise me no one is to be allowed in except
me! Do you promise!" "I
promise!" "Heed the Master or you
and your mother will die." Raxl says to Holly. Raxl and Jean Paul leave the room
as Holly closes the door. "Lock the
door." Jean Paul call out to her.
"Yes Jean Paul." Holly says as she turns the key. Jean Paul turns the knob. "Good, now
remember no one is to be allowed in except me. I'll be back as soon as I
can." "Yes." Holly says as she
walks over to her mother. She pulls the blanket over Elizabeth then walks to the
window, she looks out. Holly thinks to herself silently. 'The fire is spreading.
We'll be trapped in this room. We'll die. I don't want to die. I don't want to
die!' Holly turns and rushes over to her mother. "Mother, mother wake up. Wake
up please! We've got to get out of here!" Elizabeth stirs but doesn't awaken.
"Mother please wake up! I don't want to burn!" Holly walks to the door. She puts
her hand on the key, releasing it she turns and leans against the door. "No, I
must trust Jean Paul I mustn't unlock the door." 'But what if he dies trying to
put out the fire? And I'm left here alone?' Holly hears the chimes in the room.
She walks over to Elizabeth. "Mother, mother please wake up. Help me!" Elizabeth
stirs again but doesn't wake up. "Yes." Holly says as she walks over to the
door. "Yes, I must unlock the door. I must come to where they are waiting for
me. I must come." Holly says turning the key. Elizabeth stirs. "Mother." Holly turns
and walks back to her mother's side. She holds her mother's hand. The door
swings open. Holly turns and looks at it. Rushing across the room she closes and
locks the door. Then she leans on it. "I must trust Jean Paul. I mustn't open
the door for anyone. Not anyone!"
Erica stands on the other side of the door. "Open the door Holly darling.
It's Erica." Holly stands against
the door shaking her head. "Holly
please the door is locked. I only want to talk with you. Open it for me, for
Erica." Holly rushes over to her
mother shaking her. "Please please wake up. I need you." she cries out to her
mother. "Holly do you hear
me?" Holly stands. "I hear
you." "Then open the door darling.
It's your friend, it's me Erica. I want to talk with you. My sweet, I want to
comfort you. Open the door darling please."
Jean Paul enters the boathouse. "Quito! Quito!" he shouts raising
his arms to protect his face from the flames. "Raxl the buckets, sea water.
Quito where are you?" Jean Paul shouts as he and Raxl fill buckets.
Holly looks at her bedroom door. "Holly don't be a foolish child. Come to
the door, come." Holly walks
towards the door. "Closer. Now you
mustn't listen to what Jean Paul says. I haven't wanted to tell you Holly but it
was Jean Paul who killed all your friends. Tim, Dan, Matt and Alison my beloved
sister!" Erica says.
Holly leans on the door listening. "My husband is the murderer. It's Jean
Paul you mustn't trust. So open the door for me Holly dear." Holly stands against the door and shakes
her head no. "Unlock the
door." "I can't." "You must." The chimes sound through the
room. Holly covers her ears and
runs to her mother. "I won't listen!" she shouts. "Very well then." Erica says then walks
to the railing looking down to the Great hall. "Jacques Eloi Des Mondes and all
the demons that brought me here with your evil powers. Help me. All you demons,
all you foul spirits of the underworld." She holds her arms out palms upward.
"Satan, Satan himself, help me!"
Holly turns and watches the key turn in the lock. Holly gasps as the door
opens and Erica walks in. "Hello my dear." Erica walks towards Holly. Holly
watches her in fear. "Don't be
afraid dear. Here my locket." Erica says dangling it in front of Holly's face
"Look at it. Follow it closely. This is the locket I wore dear Holly when I
slept the sleep of death. A beautiful sleep. A beautiful sleep." She says
swinging in front of Holly's eyes. "So quiet, so sweet. Some call it the sleep
of angels. And you shall sleep my angel. Sleep. Sleep." "Mother." Holly whispers. "Sleep, sleep. That's my good child. Now
come. Come with me." Erica says to her. Holly follows the swinging necklace.
"Let me show you, let me show you what I have for you." Jacques laughter is
heard through the room.
In the boathouse Jean Paul beats at the flames with a wet blanket.
"The fire is spreading Raxl!" "The
Island must be saved! Maljardin must not be destroyed! God of my ancestors
protect my people's home. Send rain, pour water out of the heavens and quench
this fire." Raxl commands her Gods. She has her arms raised. Lightning
flashes.
Erica leads Holly down the staircase to the Great hall. "That's a
good girl." She releases Holly's hand. "Now follow me, and do as I command."
Erica says walking to Jacques portrait. Holly follows her. she stands next to
her. "Now bow to my Master. To the
demon in the canvas. Bow and swear your loyalty." Holly bows. "Swear." Erica
says to her. "I swear my loyalty."
Holly says as she stands in a trance.
"Very sensible because you'll be with him soon in the private Hades of
Jacques Eloi Des Mondes." Holly
bows to Jacques portrait again.
In the boathouse the fire is out. Jean Paul tosses the blanket
away. "It is done Master. The
Island has been saved." Raxl says to Jean Paul. "Yes." Jean Paul says. "But where is Quito?" Raxl asks. Jean Paul shakes his head. "He must have
thought Maljardin could not be saved. And went for the boat. We've got to find
him."
In the Great Hall Erica waves her hand over Holly's face. "Now
stay there. Stand there and wait for me." Erica says then walks to a table.
Hidden behind a statue is the conjure doll. She picks it up and draws the silver
pin from the temple of the doll. "So young, so sweet." Erica walks towards Holly
with the silver pin in her hand. She raises her arm. "Now, kill her. Now!" Jacques tells
Erica. Erica stands and holds the silver pin. "Why do you hesitate? Kill her!
Now, before it's to late." "I
can't. She's so innocent, so young."
"What is innocence to do with you or me. Step forward." "She trusted me." Erica says to
him. "Do you want to live Erica? Or
to die?" Erica turns away from
Holly. "Jacques you do it. Summon Jean Paul, take possession of him. Take him
over. Make Jean Paul kill." "Erica,
now!" Erica rushes over to Jacques
portrait and drops the silver pin. "I can't." She turns and leans her back
against the wall. "I can't." "You
must. Pick it up. Pick it up! The silver nail." Erica looks at it. "Do you want to return to eternal
darkness?" "No." Erica says bending
down. "No." "Then take the silver
nail. Take it!" Erica picks it up
and stands. "From now on you will
do as you are told or this instant I will recall your spirit. Walk. Walk to the
girl!" Erica does as she is
commanded. She stands in front of Holly.
"Close to her. Now look at her. Look at her! And hate, her beauty, her
youth, her purity. Hate them and as you hate remember . She has your life, that
is your breath she is breathing. Those eyes that stare blankly into space can
shine with your own beauty. You will possess her and her spirit will be yours
and you shall live Erica never to die.. Now lift your hand!" Erica raises her arm above her head with
the silver pin in her fist. "And
kill! Strike! Kill!" "Holly!"
Elizabeth screams from the staircase. She rushes to protect Holly, pushing her
out of the way. Erica's hand comes down and stabs Elizabeth. She pulls the
silver pin free. Holly starts to
scream as Elizabeth collapses. "Mother!" Holly drops to her knees next to
Elizabeth. "You fool! You fool!"
Jacques shouts at Erica. "Mother."
Holly says to Elizabeth. "We have
made our peace you and I ." Elizabeth says. "Don't leave me! I love you. Mother!"
Elizabeth closes her eyes. Holly looks up at Erica. "Erica, Erica!" Jacques commands
her. Erica walks towards Holly with
the pin still in her hand. Holly stands and backs away. She backs into a wall as
Erica raises her hand.
