Joy Applegate is blonde, petite, and adored by her father, a wealthy widower. Her life is comfortable, gay, and carefree - until the day disaster strikes, and the tenor of her existence is drastically changed by the business and personal calamity which befalls her father. Her young brother Michael, too, is affected, and in evil company he seems headed for delinquency.

It is romance in the person of Steve Donovan which helps Joy to find herself, and it is the spiritual solace of the church from which they draw the strength to cope with their problems. They have both courage and faith, and with these they are able to find peace and contentment for themselves and for their families.

Morning is for Joy ends on a note of high anticipation, with Steve and Joy planning a future full of hope and achievement.

The world-wide audience of the late Grace Livingston Hill will welcome this first novel by her daughter. Readers who have come to expect inspiration, romance, and clean action in any book bearing the Hill name will not be disappointed.
