![]() John Beacham was baptised on 18 Oct 1829 Middleton-in-Teesdale, Durham, England, the son of Thomas & Elizabeth Beacham (nee Lee). Other known children of Thomas and Elizabeth were Sally born c.1826, Joseph born c.1827 and Jane born c.1832. John married Margaret Cason in England and they had two known children Ralph and Jane. Sadly Margaret died in Apr 1856. It is possible John arrived in Victoria, Australia in Sep 1856. He married secondly Jane Hindson in 1862 in Creswick, VIC, at which time both were residing at Clunes. Jane born c.1834 Hebburn, Durham, England, was the daughter of George and Catherine Hindson (nee James). Click here for further information regarding the Hindson family. John and Jane settled in Station Flat, Clunes where John was a miner. From about 1872 he was the hotelkeeper of the Durham Ox Hotel at Clunes. In 1878 Jane died shortly after giving birth to ther twins, Ellen and Mary. Sadly the twins also died a couple of weeks later. In 1881 John married his 3rd wife Isabella Moralee. At the time of his death in 1884 he was the hotelkeeper of the Durham Ox Hotel in Allendale. I would be grateful to learn of any further possible information regarding any members of the Beacham family.
