![]() Very little is presently known about the Gallagher family. William Gallagher born c. 1808 Co. Donegal, Ireland, married Bridget Loughry around 1829 in Co. Donegal. Their first known child Ellen was born c.1832 Co. Armagh, Ireland. Seven years later we find William and Bridget together with Ellen in Camden, NSW, Australia, when their next known child Johanna was born in 1839. Johanna was followed by Mary born 1840 Camden, Margaret born 1843 Campbell Town, William born 1845 Camden, Rosanna born 1846 Vermont and Patrick born 1848 Vermont. William, a farmer, died at the age of 87 in 1895. Bridget predeceased him 14 years earlier at the age of 77. Of William and Bridget's children Ellen married Henry McCooey in Mulgoa, NSW, in 1850. Their thirteen known children were born in the areas of Mulgoa, Camden and Goulburn. Johanna married Michael Coffey in Greendale, NSW, in 1860. Sadly shortly after the marriage Michael accidentally drowned in the Nepean River. He was born c.1831 Ireland, the son of Patrick and Catherine Coffey (nee Nash). In 1871 Johanna married John Regan in Goulburn, NSW, where they settled. Mary married Conrad Charles Kuhn (commonly known as Charles) in Wollongong, NSW, in 1856. They initially settled in Shellharbour until selecting land at East Kangaloon, NSW. Margaret married John Monaghan in Goulburn, NSW, in 1866, where they settled. William married Selina Siggs in Goulburn, NSW, in 1880. Their three known sons were born in the areas of Burrolin and Woodhouselee, NSW. Rosanna married Richard Frederick Siggs, brother of Selina, in Goulburn, NSW, in 1870. Their fourteen known children were born in the areas of Burrolin, Pejar and Powell Park, NSW. Patrick, William and Bridget's youngest son, is a complete mystery. Family lore indicates when comparatively young, he disappeared possibly with a bullock team and was never heard of again.
