Another of my mystery lines - Mathew is believed to have been born in 1873 in Rathmines, Ireland. At this point in time his parents are not known and it is not known when he married Emily May ?. Emily was born 1872 in Walford, Herts, England, again at this point in time it is not known who her parents were. Mathew was a Tailor and it seems served with the London Irish Rifles prior to his discharge in May 1919.

Mathew his wife Emily and four youngest children, sons Edward and Frank, and daughters Gladys and Daisy arrived in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia aboard the Demosthenes on 18 Jul 1922. His eldest known son Mathew Peter had emigrated to Brisbane in 1913 aboard the Osterley with his wife Daisy and 10 month old son Mathew. Also his son Peter William emigrated to Australia possibly to Victoria before settling in Queensland.

I would be grateful to learn of any further possible information regarding the Higgins family.
