Carl Anton Fred Von Mallesch born 1804 in Reusberg, was the son of Christian Mallenski Von Mallesch. Family lore indicates Carl was a Dane by birth and had a warehouse in Toudon with German short goods, pictures and Danish books. It is not presently known when Carl married Johanna Maria (nee Seltzman) or when they arrived in Australia, however by 1857 the family had settled in the Beechworth area in Victoria.

Carl and Johanna had at least five known children. Charlotte Antonia Frederika born circa 1854 married Jacob Christian Jacobsen in 1874 and settled in the Beechworth area. Carl Ludwig Johannes born 1857 in Woolshed married Ellen possibly in NSW and the family settled in Sydney, NSW. Robert Carl Adolph was born in 1862 and died in 1863. Ludwig Adolp Gottlieb married Mary Hockings in 1893 in Sydney and the family settled in Sydney. The last known child Adolph Frederick was born in 1869 - he is a complete mystery!

Very little is presently known about the family and I would be grateful to learn of any further possible information.
