Welcome to my jam-packed Download section. While I provide the following files in good faith, I cannot be held liable for any direct or indirect damages caused. Download at your own risk.
In short: I couldn't live without 2xExplorer. 2xExplorer to Windows Explorer is like Windows Explorer is to Windows 3.11's File Manager! Go to the homepage of 2xExplorer to find out more about this great program.
Download build 1.3.1.12 of 2xExplorer ONLY if you are having problems with the latest version as described here. I suggest that you try the latest version first, which can be downloaded from the 2xExplorer homepage.
This registry entry (Windows 98SE) allows you to use search engines straight from your address bar in Internet Explorer (Works in IE 5.x and IE 6). If you have another OS, you may still want to download and edit it accordingly. Just download this file and rename it so that it has a ".reg" extension. ONLY PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY KNOW ABOUT THEIR REGISTRY SHOULD RUN THIS. I advise you to check the entries yourself and back up your registry just as a precaution.
To use it, just type something like g searchstring (search with Google) or a searchstring (search with AllTheWeb.com) into the Address Bar. To find out the other shortcuts, look at the names of the other directories in the registry entry. For more information, go to http://www2b.abc.net.au/science/techtalk/posts/topic55264.shtm. The relevant info might be a bit buried, but that will be no problem for people that have a reasonable knowledge of their system registry.
Added search entries: abc (ABC forum search), au (Australian sites), ms (MS Knowledgebase). Idea for 3 additional searches courtesy of Matt®.
I hope you find this useful.

CDTray is for all of us poor geeks who don't have a keyboard with a CD eject button. Once installed, go into the properties of a CDTray shortcut and assign a keyboard combination to it. I suggest Ctrl-Shift-O, which will allow you to open and close the drive when you can't be bothered reaching for the eject button.
