Yep, that's the bathroom. My first area in Bolivia was El Palmar, commonly known as Los Lotes (The Lots). When I was there, running water had not yet arrived in that part of town, so this was the bathroom. Toilet on the right, shower on the left. Draw water out of a well, fill up the 5-gallon bucket, and pour it on with the pitcher. When finished, sweep out the water (of course, the drainage didn't work--You'd dump water down the toilet to flush as well),and you get an old piece of tin--for privacy. About a month after I left, the water lines were brought in from Santa Cruz. Heck, when I was leaving Bolivia, they were even starting to pave the main road--but as this was my introduction to Bolivia, so is it yours.
