One of my favorite fanfictions ever written is entitled "The Shadow Chronicles"- 
a long and occasionally rambling tale that none-the-less awes one with it's sheer breadth 
and ambition. Nearing the end of the first stage, Kodachi and Ranko view multitudes of 
alternate worlds, and Kodachi whispers in her death scene that she saw a world where Ranma 
loved her and only her. It was this scene, and those words, more than anything else that 
inspired me to start writing alternate histories- and indeed, much of my fanfic works. So to 
that author who I cannot remember the name or website of, I give my thanks for I feel that 
through him I have matured as a writer. It is to him that I dedicate A Rose by Any Other Name. 
And now, on to the fics. As you can see, most (But not all) are dark fics- I don't really 
plan it that way, it just sort of happens.
