FAMILY VIDEO GAME mod NTVG-82
The Family Video Game and a strangely labelled Texet version... really doubt that Texet would have had anything to do with these things =) These pics are not to scale - I just resized them differently... sorry!
Displays a picture of the sun over some water with a dark sky and the words "Eighty Two" with a menu above. The menu is quite nice - as you scroll through the pages on the menu, the sun sets!
The best thing about this version is that there isn't much duplication of titles - there are probably more games in this unit than the TVG-168!
BTW, I had to take the Texet machine apart to make it work - just a loose wire inside... while I was there I took a look at the chips - 4 are manufactured by UMC, 6 or so by Goldstar, a tiny Motorla chip (on a huge heatsink that gets super hot!) & a couple that just say Korea. There are also 2 huge chips NCN-82A & NCN-82B (ROM chips?).
The Texet machine didn't come in a different box - it came in a very battered FVG-168 box... it was only by chance that I noticed it was different to the others & picked it up.
A list of the titles: (Spelling mistakes are probably not mine...:)
This version comes in a slightly different box to the FVG-168 - check out these cool scans
