SCORPION 8

This famiclone was picked up in a local games shop and I managed to pick up a couple of pirate games with it (for free, as it was their last machine! =).

This is the machine itself. It look spretty much like a real Nintendo Famicom. It has a lever that is supposed to ease the cart out but this doesn't really help much. The unit is actually quite shabby as is quite common with these things so it doesn't get used much. (Image shows a Bootleg Rainbow Islands cart inserted).

The pads are very NES-like and have rapid fire buttons above the regular ones. You will see pads like these with the same gold face packed in with loads of Famiclones...

Above are the two carts that I got hold of at the same time as the machine (the fairly common Pac-Man and the much rarer Rainbow Islands) next to a UK NES cart (Gauntlet) - not sure quite what I wanted to prove with that ;) Below the carts is the inner packaging for the Pac-Man cart with the instruction sheet next to it. On the right is the instruction manual for the Scorpion 8 itself.

The Pac-Man cart in it's Scorpion 8 packaging - with a different design to that on the box of the machine. A couple of Scorpion 8 games (different titles to those above) appeared on eBay UK in May 2000 - they sold for around £20-£25 or so... quite reasonable :)
