A BOUQUET

Little violet wet with dew
With your coat of purple hue;
Little harbinger of spring,
Bringing joy to everything,
Do you like the springtime too?

How you brighten up the place,
With your little velvet face;
Bringing sunshine, spreading joy
For some little girl or boy,
Dainty as a piece of lace.

You're my favorite little flower
Blooming in your woodland bower;
You're the first one out in spring
When the birds begin to sing,
You enchant each golden hour.
