BUILDING: WIRESHOES
There
really is no magic about this. All it takes is a little practice and patiense.
And the right tools. Cobbling up wires isn't a job for proffesionals only.
In fact, you'd be surprised to find out how many so called proffesionals
who just lash up wires so they resemble a working model of the Brazilian
Rain Forest.
De-isolate the wire 4-5 mm. Apply the wire-shoe, hold it in position
and squeeze it with the plier. As you can see, I prefer the non-insulated
wire shoes with a lock tab. These are the ones used in relay sockets and
fuseboxes. If you want insulation, use a schrink-tube.
To remove an old (corroded or under-dimentioned)
wire shoe from a socket, insert a thin screwdriver, press in the lock
tab and pull out the wire from beneath.
