DOOR PANELS

Several changes were done to the door panel styling from 1968 to 1993, but they are all interchangeable, provided their corresponding internals go with them too. (And provided you dont try to fit a 2/3 door panel into a 4/5 door car...) All front doors have a pocket (doorbin) that will not only carry a map and a pack of chewing gum, it will swallow half a case of coke.

The 4/5-door 99 and 900 all used the same recepie, a vinyl clad compressed paper with cloth above the armrest (as of m78), which evolved in terms of design over the years.

On the 2/3 door's, two very different door panels were available.
- All 2-door 99, 90, and 900's (exept EMS+TURBO) had a vinyl clad compressed paper panel, with the door latch release handle hidden away under the armrest. I use to play practical jokes on people unfamiliar with this. When we arrive at our destination, I tell them to open the door, quickly!!, and watch the panic arise, as they fail to find the door latch. Noughty me!
Replace this door panel with one from a 3-door.

- All 3-door 99 and 900's (and 2-door EMS+TURBO) had a one-piece moulded door panel with the door latch release handle sensibly placed above the armrest, right behind the window winder handle. (If there is one)
