Memories Of A Fading City

Sabrina's Bangalore

Some came from afar  to make a pilgrimage of a life time to their forefather's memories and places that they lived in. Taking back with them the essence of a shattered land, a de-flowered  Rose from an uprooted 'Garden City' that was once a 'Pensioner's Paradise'!!

Bangalore, Year 1986, was a special occasion for Sabrina to capture her visit to the City of Bangalore on film and these memories are a rare treasure. As each day the City is changing so rapidly and one really cannot recognize it, sometimes even within the year itself. The landscape is so fluid that day by day the very Soul of the City is being torn out and will never be replaced.  Trees are indiscriminately uprooted with the excuse of widening roads, and impoving facilities, etc., Let's be frank about it, the City is going to the dogs! Can we save what is left of it from the eager hands that are so willing to destroy whatever beauty there is, be it in waterways, roads, trees, flowers, buildings, landmarks, monuments, and people. Sabrina is sharing these pictures with  us for the benefit of fellow Bangaloreans, both local as well as abroad. Some of the photographs that Sabrina shares of Baldwin Girls' High School, perhaps goes back to her school days, some 4 decades ago!
