SACRAMENTO ALUMNAE CHAPTER
The Sacramento Alumnae Chapter was established in 1936 under the direction of Mrs. Fenton Williams. (Note: This is an area the chapter needs help in "fleshing out". Contact Ann Marie Bronte (ambronte@cwo.com) to add information about the history of the chapter. Contributions will be gratefully accepted!)

MEMBERSHIP
As of 2002, the Sacramento Metropolitan area encompasses 950+ Delta Gammas! Of this number, 130 are annual dues-paying members of the Sacramento chapter. Our group is one of very few which support not one, not two, but THREE collegiate chapters in the area: Delta Epsilon at University of the Pacific, Delta Eta at CSU/Sacramento, and Delta Chi at UC Davis. All metropolitan area Delta Gammas are contacted in late summer by a newsletter. Dues-paying members receive an additional newsletter, meeting reminders, and a Chapter Directory published annually each January.

PROGRAMS
See Events link

FOUNDATION
Sacramento hosts one major fund-raising activity annually. During the late summer/early fall months, the annual Christmas Card Sale is held. At the local Founders Day, the alumnae chapter, in conjunction with the three collegiate chapters, holds a fundraising raffle. In the past, proceeds from these activities have supported programs at the Society for the Blind, camperships for blind children to the Enchanted Hills Camp in Napa, purchased a brick in the Foundation Walkway at Executive Offices in Columbus, and enabled Delta Gammas to return to college to finish their degree through an annual scholarship awarded through the Delta Gamma Foundation.

SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS
Sacramento sponsors four special interest groups. The Downtown Lunch Bunch-a group of Delta Gammas who work in the core area of Sacramento meet monthly at local "in" eating establishments. The Older Members Lunch Bunch-meets on a regular basis at different locations in the Sacramento area. The Delta Gamma Bridge Group-a long-standing group of alumnae who gather for bridge. And, the Young Alum Interest Group, formed in the last three years, this group targets those alumnae initiated since 1985.

FINANCE
Chapter membership is a bargain! Annual dues are $40.00. Of that amount, the chapter takes the responsibility to send per capita dues of $17.50 to Executive Offices for each dues-paying member. The remaining $22.50 stays in the local area to fund communication, chapter programming, AND collumnae contacts with all THREE collegiate chapters.

PANHELLENIC
Sacramento Alumnae Chapter is a member of the local National Panhellenic Association. Each year, the chapter contributes to a luncheon whose proceeds support Panhellenic scholarships for Greek women at local universities.

COMMUNICATION
Newsletters are published twice annually. The newsletter informs members of coming events and past happenings. Features include communications from the president, a calendar of events, and news from the collegiate and alumnae worlds. In addition to the printed word, the chapter maintains an e-mail tree. The tree is used to update/remind members about programs and events on a timely basis. To add your name to the e-mail tree, contact Ann Marie Bronte (ambronte@cwo.com).

COLLUMNAE
As detailed above, the alumnae support THREE collegiate chapters. Groups at University of the Pacific (Delta Epsilon), CSU/Sacramento (Delta Eta), and UC/Davis (Delta Chi) all benefit from the attention of Delta Gamma alumnae. Members of the alum chapter perform Senior Installations to welcome and encourage participation of new alumnae in chapters wherever they travel after leaving college. Recent support for the collegiate chapters included fundraising for additional ceremonial robes (Delta Eta '00) and new white socks (Delta Chi '01). The alumnae also support the collegiate membership by staffing the chapter Advisory and House Corporation Boards.
