Federal Government Girls’ College, Sagamu is one of the Federal Government Colleges in Nigeria founded on the 20th of January 1978. The school, which was initially located at Ilaro, its temporary site, has successfully produced women of timber & calibre both in Nigeria and Overseas. So far, the school has enjoyed the services of prominent women especially, as its principal from conception to date. They are:

The student population is about 2070, which comprises of 2004 boarders and 66 day students. The school runs JSS 1 to SSS 3 classes, with each of these having six arms. The staff strength of FGGC Sagamu is 302 comprising of 165 academic staff and 137 non-academic staff. The Parent’s Teacher’s Association (PTA) is quite active, they meet regularly. The Advisory Council of the School comprises of about 12 members as well as a member of the FGGC Sagamu Old Girls’ Association Miss Olaide Awobajo (’95 set). The chairperson is Mrs. Wilde. The school has a standard sickbay to take good care of the students when
they are sick. The school also has the following facilities: - The then principal Mrs. O.O. Odegbaro inaugurated the Old Girls’ Association of F.G.G.C. Sagamu on April 1st 2000, at the school assembly hall. Members of the executive are: -
