Chapter 7: Home Again
Heero tramped through the woods and finally saw her up ahead. She was sitting over a pond looking a her reflection with tears running down her face. Heero hardened his face. "Ala."
She snapped her head up and impatiantly wiped the tears away. "What do you want?"
He stepped towards her and sat down on the rock next to her. As he gripped it for support against the outburst he knew would come, he tried to maintain his hard composure by listning to the crickets and birds. "I don`t love you and most likely never will so give it up."
She gasped at his bluntness. She thought only she had that much potency. "W-what?"
He smirked at the reaction. Good, soon everything would be fine. She would help him leave and he would drop her like he had Relena. Although now that he thought about it she took care fo herself good and she`d be low maintanance. He pushed that thought out of his head and looked at her right in the eye. "I don`t love you."
She slapped him suddenly and stood up. "Do you think that solves anything? My powers are gone! I don`t care fo you love me! The only thing I care about is that I`m in love with you! You were over looked when whoever made this stupid universe picked people to live here! You weren`t on the guest list! You don`t live here for a reason! Why did you come here? Why did you envade my life and make me fall in love with you? I`m helpless! If he gets me again I`m dead! It`s all your fault!"
Heero blinked at her. That wasn`t what he had been expecting. He had thought that when a girl was in love she worried about the other person and as soon as they rejected her she would get over it. He needed to lok into this a little more. "Well, I must say, I`v never seen her react to anyone that way. She must mean it but it does explain her lack of power." They both turned to see Briton standing in the shadow of a tree. He grinned at the both of them. "Good bye."
Heero was once again standing in the field. Sun was peaking over the simulated hill. Flowers were in full bloom but no where was there a base of any sort. He heard the bark from close by and knew who was coming. "Hey mister, are you lost?"
Heero sat up and looked at the little girl. He had to learn from her. It was his only chance. "I think so."
She giggled. "Silly Heero, no you aren`t. Deep inside you know right where you are. Is that little girl your friend?"
"Hmm?" Heero looked over to where the little girl was pointing. Ala lay unconsouse in tha grass most likely in her own dream world. Even in a dream she was beautiful. Her skin was sun kissed and her eyes solomly closed. A few squirls scurried around her but they finally stopped. Heero wondered if they were under her spell too. "Yes. Thats Ala."
The little girl giggled again than looked at the girl in a scense of awe. "Really? Wow! She`s pretty! You love her Heero and she loves you."
Heero regarded the little girl with surprise. Maybe she didn`t know as much as he thought she did. "I don`t love her." He now shot her a glare out of habit and dared her to say something.
The little girl leaned closer and held her hand in front of her mouth as if she didn`t want anyone else to hear what she had to say. "Sure ya do. Search yourself Heero and you`ll see her in your heart."
Heero thought about it for a minute. He wanted nothing more than to protect her. To hold her, to make her pain go away. With a shake of his head he looked at the little girl. "Where are we going?"
The girl leaned forward again. "Home." Heero landed with a thud on hard concrete and Ala followed him.
They both sat up and she stared at Heero. "This your world?"
Heero stood up and saw how small and helpless she looked. It was the same way he had felt in her world and she had protected him. Now it was his turn. "Yeah it is."
