A Letter From Chad

Sage, I enter softly, padded with humility.

Hello and a lovely dove to you. (Don't worry. They don't eat much.)

So, I have been thinking about angels and demons lately
and I wondered about your take on this
understated area of many religions.

The Japanese had the Oni.

Much of Europe feared fairies and boggarts.

Trolls, ogres, gnolls, and Mephistopheles himself.

Witches were targeted for a lot as well.

Not that they did anything about it.

They were peaceful folk unlike the unforgiving
puritans and Roman catholics.

But, I chatter.

Angels, white lights and tender soothing voices.

Demons, fierce or deceptively calm.

Do they watch us?
Do they help us?

Are they taking over criminals and saints?

Do they watch us undress at night?
(not that I'm ashamed of anything., mind you.)

I heard someone talk about cruel avenging angels with
blazing swords, purifying earth by piercing
the black hearts of sinners.

Demons who in retrospect, just need someone to talk to them.

They have hate in their heart and need a friend to understand
so they can heal.

They're interesting ideas.

I'm not a highly religious man.

I merely like to think.

Heaven and hell.

Eternal damnation for a moments passion or a lifetime in
confusion about what the poor sap really wanted.

Many asshole out there could have really used a friend.

Now they use everyone.

As tearful as that is, it doesn't seem to be enough to
burn forever in molten evil.

Look at Hitler.

The man hated himself and his family.

Jewish people represented all that he hated in himself so
he wanted to kill the evil around him.

But it didn't work.

He just found more evil.

He kept killing and he kept finding more evil.

He didn't look in the right place.

That's too bad, too late.

He really needed someone to trust, someone to know him, to
believe in him not because he impressed them with glory or
freedom from poverty, but because they had seen him
for what he was, a man, and accepted him.

He was an anti-social.

He read in his room as a kid.

He was as human as we are, but he was mad.

He hated more than he could fathom.

He overloaded and broke down.

Spank him and show him his evil.

Put him in time out for a year in a psych ward and give him
all he needs to become a trusting loving person again.

Don't melt him in lava.

What will that help.

God has more at his disposal than pleasure and pain.

By that token, angels probably can hate and demons love.

They just need the motivation and the opportunity.

On that, I load my springs and rocket into the sky.

Farewell, and kiss an attractive woman.

Be careful.

They can hit pretty quickly sometimes.

(skyward shooting),

Boinking

>:D

My new emoticon.

Aaah I smell another genius hiding in the dark halls
of the mystical paradox *G* ...

But - a light shines.

- Yes -

Love and hate can come from the same place - love can,
and often does turn into hate -
as hate sometimes
turns into love .

- But wait -

Hate is not the opposite of love or love the opposite of hate.

Oh yes -  fear is the thing which burns beneath most hates and
undermines some loves and sometimes makes beautiful
women hit quickly, great King Chad.

(I love the dove) (Thanks)

Perhaps love could balance some but others hold on to their fear -
it helps them feel important - and driven - and sometimes they
think it's all they 'have' and so won't let it go -
we can send them love in our meditations and
'prayers' and love ourselves more so we feel
strong enough to let go of whatever
fears we might hold inside.

Too many horror stories have been told around the camp-fires
and too many fairy tales have been called true and so
we drift in and out of logic and fantasy.

Imagination is a fine thing but it's the volcano with its fire that
caused some tribes to think that 'hell' is hot and nasty and
'down there' and the sun and cooling rain which caused the
same tribes to think that 'heaven' is nice and 'up there'.

And fairy tales which make our tribe think any of this is true.

Do you believe in the easter bunny or santa clause??

Why does our society teach its children that they are real??

They are as real as god or the devil.

And there for the same reasons.

We need something to do with our spare imagination time
and 'heaven' forbid we learn to live effectively and
well without these controlling factors.

How could we distinguish right and wrong if we didn't have
a nasty punishment waiting for us after death ??

We would have to use logic and balance and self control and
be responsible for our actions individually - we
would have no-one but ourselves to blame if
there were no jezebels to tempt us,
or 'devils' to make us sin.

It would be our fault .......

But I ramble.

It's what you see and hear and feel - above all feel which
is real for you.

And before any of this comes the thought -
the thought - sweet Chad.

There's nothing brighter than an incensed angel - or sweeter
than an understanding and loving imp.

Anyway it's all a dream.

(Your dove sits on my shoulder and coos)
(it's soft and warm)
(my cat is interested)

=P
