QUESTION

Frightfull
Subject:
What does Wicca means?
I
normally work on my own, but yesterday I read something
on a forum that frightened me.
I always felt wicca is a way of live serving the Goddess
who is kind, warm and loving.
But yesterday I read also worshippers of Satan call themself wiccan.
I don't want to relate myself to them.
What do you think?

LEONORA'S * ANSWER
Don't
worry Fright
1.
Wicca is a term meaning 'wise' - that's all !!!!
2.
Christians used to call anyone who practised ANY other
philosophy or religion heathens, pagans or witches but
obviously not all of them were (or are) witches.
All of them, by definition, are pagan or heathen however.
3.
In order to accept that satan exists you have to be
christian, or at least accept the christian doctrine,
because satan - the devil - is a christian concept.
4.
Anyone who practises the 'true' path of the Wise Ones
does not believe in satan AT ALL!!, or any other
god/ess for that matter, preferring to take
responsibility for themselves.
5.
Most satanists are really expressing their (understandable)
outrage at some of the more limiting beliefs
of the christian doctrine which force people to believe
that they are tainted at birth simply because they have
GENDER and might enjoy sex at some stage in their lives.
This is not the only motivation for satanists of
course - but it's one of the instigators.
Most of them like to 'stir up the soup' a bit ..
Keeps us on our toes LOL.
6.
Some satanists are witches however not all witches
are satanists.
Some witches are doctors, lawyers, religious leaders,
teachers, mothers, fathers - etc etc.
7.
Wicca means wise - - that's ALL it means in this context.
*.
In some other circles it means a type of basket .*
