The Early Years
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I grew up loving the outdoors. The wilderness truly gave me many adventures. I have wonderful memories of camping, skiing, hiking, and traveling around with my family. Speaking of my loved ones, I am the youngest child in a large, blended family. Holidays and birthdays were always very important to us. My folks loved to take us to see new places and experience as much life as we could. Building upon that love for travel, I was fortunate to even spend time studying abroad in Japan. My time overseas helped give me perspective.
Nowadays
These days, I am a very busy, married mother of two. After working in social services for the better part of ten years, I decided to pursue teaching. I returned to school and earned my Master of Arts in Teaching. I now teach English at an international elementary school that specializes in full language immersion in Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish. It is a unique opportunity that teaches me something new everyday.
I also enjoy my time at home with my kids, Nicky and Kirsten. They are truly my heart and soul. Honestly, it is my family that really keeps me going and a smile on my face. My lifelong passions and creative oulets have always been writing and drawing. I hope one day to combine my passions by writing and illustrating children's books. As for hobbies, I also love reading, watching movies, flitting around the web, or just playing at the park with my kids. As for sports, I enjoy swimming, skiing, ice and inline skating. I have begun work on my Masters in Teaching. This new opportunity has me excited and I can't wait to become a teacher at last. Most of all, I just want to keep my inner balance and be happy.
