Good Friends

Shelley

I met Shelley while living on the same floor of the international dorm at the U of O. We discovered that not only do we share a passion for cereal, chips 'n salsa, gymnastics, and 'idle' talk, but that we are truly kindred spirits. Shelley is crazy about all things frogs and loves to travel. She is my best friend in life and we've always been there for each other. She is now a bonafide Texan (still an Oregonian at heart though!). I have to thank her for introducing me to a sinful little treat called beignets. Shelley realized her dream of graduating law school and spends her days as a legal eagle. She also met and married the man of her dreams. Check out her page!

Jessica

How high and low I've searched for a fellow Sanrio fan! Not only does she love the cute stuff like me, but she's become an amazing friend to boot. Jessica and I bonded in the early months of grad school at George Fox as we tried not to drown in pedogogy. We just seem to compliment each other somehow. She keeps me grounded when I get a little loopy or intense with our workload, and hopefully vice versa. She's married with a little boy of her own.

Rhonda

Rhonda and I took WR 121 our freshman year of college and eventually roomed together in the dorms at Eastern Oregon State. Eventually I transferred away, but we always managed to stay close. Though we live in different cities, we are living sort of parallel lives. We always seem to be going through similar things at the same time. It's eerie. She is a wonderful friend and one of the sweetest people I've ever known. Rhonda has a big thing for penguins and Garth Brooks.

Nami

Nami and I met while attending U of O and lived in the international dorm. She wanted an English-speaking roommate, and I preferred one that spoke Japanese. Well, fate intervened and we ended up sharing a dorm room and eventually two apartments. We've stayed in touch all these years, even though there's an literally an ocean between us. Nami loves Humpty Dumpty memorabilia, raccoon figurines, and is quite the world traveler. Nami is a military wife and is currently enjoying the Aloha Spirit in Hawaii. She is also the proud mother of beautiful little girl named...Erin Sakura.

Rosie

Rosalee is married to one of my husband's best friends, Brian. Together, they have a very strong faith and have four kids, Natalie, Matthew, Kayelee, and William. Rosie loves all things elephants is quite good at scrapbooking. Rosie has a very generous heart and has been so much fun to hang out with. We can spend hours playing board games, shopping for our kids, and just chatting about our daily lives. Our kids may or may not marry each other one day, but I would be proud to call any of them family.

Mo

Maureen or "Mo" is the wife of my husband's best friend, Troy. She is also the mother of three very sweet girls...Ravyn, Willow, and Sadie. We've had many a heart-to-heart that has helped me to understand what motherhood and marriage are all about. She loves tweety bird, candles, and shopping til she drops (she's a purse freak). She is currently finishing up school to become a hairdresser and I am so proud of and happy for her.

Brian

Brian is one of two best friends my husband has had since high school. He is also married to Rosalee. Brian is a very open and giving person. He would do anything for those he cares for and works hard for everything his family has. Not only does he always make me laugh, but he makes me want to be a better person. Brian is heavily into Nascar racing (Go Mark Martin!), the Raiders, and computer games (he and Kevin can play for hours!).

Troy

Troy is almost a mirror image of my husband in terms of interests. They have been best friends since high school. They are all into old cars, fantasy genres (RPG, movies, books, etc), and computer games. Among his other interests, he loves wolves and watching racing (Jeff Gordon fan) on tv. He also knows about a lot of obscure movies. Troy is married to Mo and loves all of his girls. I often joke with him that he reminds me of Charles Ingalls from the "Little House" series. Troy has never ceased in his loyalty and honesty to those he cares for. He is a good friend.

Melissa

Miss Magenta if you please, or should I call her Dawn? Known by many handles over the years, Melissa has been a loyal netpal since 1997. We met through a V.C. Andrews email list and have carried on a great friendship ever since. Thankfully we have both evolved enough to embrace other authors as well. I would really love to meet her some day. She and her husband are now enjoying parenthood with their adorable son, Eitan.
