Sec. 57 - In the absence of any explanation offered by the petitioners with regard to the possession , custody or control of the dead bodies of two deers and the captive slender Loris, the legal presumption of possession , custody or control of these animals has to be drawn against the petitioners under Sec. 57 of the Act and the courts were fully justified in finding that they were in possession of those animals so as to attract the provisions of Sec. 9 punishable under Sec. 51 of the Act.
