Vital Statistics
Dione is a
variant of the Adams 40, designed by prolific and renowed
Australian designer Joe Adams. For 30 years Adams Yacht
Design Pty Ltd have produced designs for sailing craft ranging
from the 12' 'Leader' skiff dinghy to the Adams 72' Ketch,
with 38 designs in regular production over the period. Perhaps the
best known examples of Adams' designs are the
Sydney-to-Hobart maxi flyers of the 1970's, Helsal I and
Helsal II. Besides these the Adams 12.5 and Adams 13 are popular
'speed' machines, while the Adams 40, Mottle 33 and Zeston
35 & 40 are popular cruising
designs.
