Happy Birthday Michiru-san!
* While it might sound a bit vain of Michiru to like collecting cosmetics, it's the truth! All of the information compiled for the Vital Stats section of the Birthday Feature is translated directly from the Japanese manga volume 10. ** Sashimi is raw meat strips, while kikurage are specific mushrooms. -- Manga

used in the original Japanese anime/manga. Items: Attacks: "Appearing elegantly, I am the soldier of the deep sea star, Sailor Neptune!" Darn right! Simply translated, Kaioh Michiru means "Maturing Sea King" or "Complete Sea King". "Sea King" itself refers to Neptune's greek counterpart, the God of the Sea and Waters, Poseidon. In Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon the Roman Gods' names are used instead. Neptune's element of influence is Water. If you hardly know anything about BSSM, or have been living under a rock, then you must be saying "Waaaaiiit a minute! Water is MERCURY'S power!" Actually, Mercury's powers are more focused on Ice, Bubbles, Fog... the OTHER forms of water, to be specific. Some people have gone off and created fanfictions to explain why their attacks are so similar, and why (if you've seen any of Sailor Moon Super) they seem to have an unspoken rivalry with each other, as unlikely as that might seem with Ami-chan. If you know your astrology, you'd know that those born on March 6th are Pisces, the sign ruled by the Fish, the element Water, the color Sea-Green/Aqua, the gemstones and precious stones Moonstone, Aquamarine and Bloodstone. However, before Neptune was discovered by astrologers, the sign of Pisces was ruled by Jupiter, so Neptune shows some traits typical of Jupiter. For example, she is very loyal to her cause, a tough and long-lasting fighter, and has the "appearances can be decieving" thing going on. In addition, she shares the same blood type as the green Inner Senshi of Wood, which is O. Sailor Neptune is the Elegant Fighter, and the reincarnation of Princess Neptune, or Princess Michiru. (I like to call her Princess Michiru... Princess Neptune sounds so formal... can you imagine calling Serenity "Princess Moon"?) Her castle is Triton Castle, and is named so because Triton was another Roman god of water, as well as the relation of the moon of Neptune (which was named so because of the God in the first place). We don't know a lot... or anything, at all, about how Michiru came to be a senshi. She apparently has no family, and, like Haruka and Setsuna, lives in a rather pricey condo at the Infinity Banks. She is also the owner of the Marine Cathedral Violin, a very pricey and rare violin. So she's getting money from someplace. As Michiru, she can be rather empathic, and sometimes even funny, as in one SMS episode, she played a rather chipper violin song to Usagi while bouncing a lemon on it and twirling around. However, as Sailor Neptune, nothing will stop her from suceeding at her mission, no matter what the cost, even if it is an innocent human's life, such as Unazuki (Lizzy) or Usagi (Serena). However, her love for Haruka runs deep (yes, they are lesbians, big deal!) and ends up sacrificing herself to protect her, with her last words being "For the mission" or something of that sort. Michiru/Neptune may be as outwardly cold as she first seems because of her reluctance and lack of understanding towards her mission and role as a senshi. Many people believe that the outer senshi, namely Neptune, as she was the first to be "revived" (not including Pluto) recieved all their memories of the Silver Millenium. Not so. Only AFTER Pluto arrived did they get some of their memories back. Fragments of their memories and a hidden guardian (probably Pluto) led them to believe what their mission was, and gave them the henshin wands in order to suceed at it. Because of her high intelligence and rather cool demeanor, she attends the popular, and yet mysterious school, Mugen Gakuen, or Infinity Academy. When she first appears in S, she is in Grade 10, with Haruka (1st year of Senior High School), while Hotaru (Sailor Saturn) is in Grade 6 (6th year of Elementary School). When Mugen Gakuen is destroyed in late winter, the students are presumably transferred to Juuban, the same school as the Inner Senshi (save Rei, who attends a private school, and Minako, who still goes to another school) go to. However, we see the two outers (Uranus and Neptune, as Pluto is more of a half-outer, being the Guardian of the Space-Time Gate and Saturn being reborn in a baby's body) going to places unknown... and they do not reappear until Sailorstars, when they begin to attend Juuban High in the 12th (final and 3rd year of Senior High School) grade (manga only, I believe). In the dub, she is Haruka's "cousin" (gag---) instead of her lover. While I haven't seen enough of the new Cloverway dubs to judge, it's pretty safe to say that all the romantic -and rather necessary- moments when Michiru and Haruka expressed their closeness have been butchered. It is known that Michiru discovered she was a senshi before Haruka-- and was, in fact, the one who warned Haruka not to touch her transformation wand, as it would forever alter her fate. ^^; We all know Haruka didn't listen. But after that event, when Haruka became Sailor Uranus, the two were very close, and their almost opposite personalities drew them closer. It isn't really known when they "got together", but the rest of the world thinks Haruka is male. Michiru doesn't seem to mind at all, and in fact, her contrasting personality makes Haruka a bit more tolerable... and vice versa. Michiru is known as Michelle (^_^) in the dub, Michiru in the Meet: Senshi books, and Nerissa in the Irwinn doll collection. Michiru has a lot in common with Mamoru, Seiya, and Chibiusa. Point in case-- you either like her or you don't. She doesn't have a very big part in lots of fanfictions-- even ones featuring her and Haruka alone. However, she is a "cool" character, loyal, beautiful, and powerful to the heel. Last
