Ah, Seiya Kou. The youngest of the youngest of the Senshi. Yes, it sounds a bit weird to be addressing a guy as a Senshi, but it's true. In the anime, Seiya Kou is the eqivalent of Ranma Saotome (Ranma 1/2)... 50% guy, 50% girl. Just another thing to add to the list of weirdness in the anime versus the original manga.

In any case, Seiya Kou and his "brothers" from the distant Kinmoku Galaxy arrived on Earth to prevent Sailor Galaxia, a corrupted Sailor Senshi, from getting ahold of the Star Seeds, or in the case of the manga, the Sailor Crystals. They were also searching for their missing princess, Princess Kakyuu (Fireball).

Transformations:
Fighter Star Power, Make Up!

Items:
Transformation Microphone*

* Yes, microphone. Not pen, not wand, but microphone... ^^; Very handy, if you're a pop star going around in leather shorts saving teens in mini skirts...

Attacks:
Star Serious Laser*

* Considering there are three "Starlights"-- Fighter, Healer, and Maker, it makes sense that Seiya's attack has to do with a laser. I mean, lasers destroy, you destroy stuff in fights... right? ^^;

When you're an alien from another galaxy out to stop the baddest of the bad Senshi from taking over Earth, you have to... improvise. Supposedly, Seiya's male "form" in the anime is just that-- a form. Like a disguise. Kakyuu-hime, when she appears, asks the Lights why they appear to be men. Seiya's explanation is that it is easier to find women that way, and while he's not exactly looking for Miss Right, he had been searching for her-- his Princess. Or her princess. Whatever.

As the leader of the Lights and the main lyricist, Seiya is the one who sings out the enchanting messages to his audience-- in a "boy band" of three, he is the lead singer. He is also responsible for keyboard playing and music composition.

Seiya flirts with Usagi incessantly, though in the manga, he simply leaves her cards-- they look like MagicŪ cards, and have no words on them, but images of things like stars, sunsets, and galaxies. He uses them to show the Senshi who their enemy is, where they are from, and so forth. However, Usagi was blind to his "hints", instead thinking the cards, given to her in Airmail envelopes, were from Mamoru.

In the anime, Seiya is definitely a guy-- if you couldn't tell in the transformation sequence, there was a bathroom scene, care of Chibi Chibi-chan... ^///^
But in the manga, as previously stated, Seiya is a women 100%-- simply disguised as a guy, and because the Lights are "new to the scene" and being male attracts more women (the Lights did need to find their Princess), they don't say anything about them actually being women.

As a Senshi and a human, Seiya is devoted to his cause and Princess, intent on preventing Galaxia from taking her away. However, no one seems to know until the end just who Chibi Chibi is, and what he relationship to Kakyuu is either. ^^ I'll leave that a secret!

Fighter plays to win, and usually does... though at the end of the manga, we don't really know what happens to her...
