Happy Birthday Taiki-kun!
Ah, Taiki. The brain of the Sailor Starlights, and easily comparable to Ami. In fact, Taiki and Ami have often been paired together-- that is, when referring to the anime Taiki. You see... in the manga, Taiki was 100% woman. At least, according to Naoko Takeuchi. She reportedly was dismayed at the fact that Toei, the animators of the Sailor Moon series, made the Three Lights into guys! They are supposedly similar to Haruka-- they resemble guys on the outside, but are physically female. Or at least, in the manga they are. Unlike in the anime, when, in each transformation sequence, we see that Taiki is definitely male beforehand... --

* Yes, Microphone. Not pen, not wand, but mircrophone. Kinda handy if you're a pop superstar in tight leather shorts going around saving teeenage girls in mini-skirts... ^^;
* In
the Tokyopop Chix Comix, Starmaker's attack is "Star
Gentle Creator". The kanji for her attack is sketchy
at best, but the attack does make more sense (and sounds
better) considering she is Sailor Starmaker.
Despite the gender-flipflop confusion, I'll refer to Taiki (as well as the other Lights) as "He" because people seem to like it better that way... and get confused otherwise. But remember-- the original manga Lights were female all the time, and if they were ever referred to as 'he', it was because the girls who idolized them didn't know better. After all, the Lights wanted to find their Princess, a girl, and what better way to find a girl that to pretend you're a boy band member? Unlike
the other Senshi, Taiki's -as well as the other Lights'-
uniform is different. Not just in school, but as a Senshi
as well. The school uniforms are stylized (fancy stars,
gold zippers, etc) regular uniforms, in a dark navy blue,
while the Senshi uniform of the Lights is a leather
number -shorts and something resembling a bikini top. Sailor Starmaker is the guitarist and occasional keyboardist for the popular band known as the Three Lights, and also co-writes lyrics for songs with Seiya, aka Sailor Starfighter. Because of his origin, she was NOT reincarnated... or if he was, the incident of such was never specified in the anime or manga. Again, he does not have a castle, or specific guardians because he is one of four (the other two lights and Kakyuu) guardians of a lost planet. As Taiki, he can be rather aloof, and sometimes even introverted, acting almost superior to others in a silent manner. And that's all on Sailor Starmaker, folks! Last Updated
