Sanjay is one of a pair of twin senshi. She's the quiet, sweet one, who's always willing to trust anyone. Her sister's more cynical, and very protective of her twin.

Sailors Alpha and Centauri do have an odd twist: they can merge to become one being: Sailor Alpha Centauri. This is similar to the "super" versions of the other sailors. Originally, the two were one being, but split during an incarnation, because of the conflicting personalities. Merging to become Sailor Alpha Centauri is draining, so the twins only do this in extreme circumstances.

~Planetary System: Alpha Centauri has two planets: Alpha and Centauri. Alpha's senshi's powers revolve around night and strength, while Centauri's are focused on light and intelligence.
~Current Residence: Idande and Sanjay currently live in a suburb just outside of Tokyo. They commute after school to their part-time jobs in down-town Tokyo.
~Current Occupation: Sanjay works after school at small shop in Tokyo that sells books and other gift items. She enjoys the customers; they're very rarely cranky, and quite interesting to talk to. She attends the Kintaku School mainly because of her sister, but she's appreciated for the sports teams; Sanjay plays most sports.
~Dreams: Sanjay's dreams are of having a nice, comfortable family that she can simply be herself with. She likes sports, but she has no aspirations to play professionally. Her desired profession would be as a coach for kids.
~Civilian Appearance: Sanjay has shoulder-length, bright orange wavy hair that she usually wears tied back. Her eyes are emerald green, and she has a pale skin tone. She stands at 5'11", and when not in school uniform, she usually wears a loose, long skirt and a comfortable shirt. At work, she has to wear khakis, though, which she hates. Her sister Idande is her identical twin. The only way to tell them apart when they are dressed identically is from two small, freckles, in the formation of a colon. Idande's are next to her left eye; Sanjay's are next to her right. Their school uniform is a white, long sleeved shirt with a black sailor collar attached, and a black pleated skirt, with knee socks and appropriate shoes.
~Personality: Sanjay is the more submissive of the twins. She likes to trust her instincts and feelings; she leaves the logical thinking to Idande. She's also fairly shy around strangers, but once you get her to open up and trust you, she's free with her feelings and thoughts. Sanjay is more relaxed and natural than her sister, who always feels she has to be guarding herself.
~Senshi Name: Sailor Alpha
~Senshi Appearance: Sailor Alpha wears a fuku similar to the Inner Senshi, with a simple exception: her outfit is entirely black. It consists of a black body- suit, black skirt, black bows, black lace-up knee-high boots, black sailor collar, and black elbow-length gloves. Her tiara and choker are made of hematite, and the stone set in each is black onyx, as is the brooch in the center of the bow on her chest. In senshi form, her orange hair is in a French braid, held back by a black scrunchie, with a few short locks hanging about her ears and eyes. She also wears a hematite ring over her glove on her right ring finger.
~Senshi attitude: Alpha ponders on the moral issues of her position. She wonders why she is the one to hurt and protect others, and whether what she does is really right. Unless someone she truly cares about is in absolute danger, she'll hesitate to attack the enemy, preferring to talk to them first.

-Silver Ring and Hematite ring trigger the transformation into Sailor Alpha Centauri
~Henshin Sequence: Against the background of a starry night sky, Sanjay sits, henshin brooch in hand. Brushing a hand against it, streams of dark ribbon issue from it, covering her body. The body-suit is beneath the ribbons as she brushes the ribbons off, which fall to form her skirt. More ribbons cover her arms, forming gloves, and do the same to form her boots. Thicker ribons tie themselves into bows. Lifting her henshin brooch, Sanjay stands and fixes it in the center of her bow, and her tiara, and choker spread across, the onyx stones setting in the middle. Lifting her arms, she smooths back her hair, which French braids itself beneath her hands, and a black scrunchie appears to hold it back as she removes her hands. With a smile, Sailor Alpha steps into a ready stance.
~Powers: Alpha's powers are based on darkness and the night. (She's not evil, just the opposite/complement of her twin.)
-Alpha Darkness Consume! - A cloud of darknness that saps the strength from the opponent. This is the weaker of Alpha's attacks.
-Alpha Starburst Blast! - A cloud of stars comes to physically damage the enemy, assuming they haven't figured out a way to block it.
~Battle weaknesses: Alpha's too emotional; she can't attack if someone's hurt, and she always wonders what the enemy's like and why they're attacking them. Centauri often has to yell at her sister senshi to make her focus. Alpha often yields to Centauri's opinions.
~History: Idande and Sanjay lived on the world of Centauri in their home system, Alpha Centauri, named after the sun its two planets orbit. For years, they lived peaceful existences, unaware of their heritage. Then the small planet was attacked, and the twin senshi were forced to come into their own. They kept their identities a secret, despite publick knowledge of the senshi's fights because they feared for their parents and their own private lives. But the two senshi were not strong enough to defeat the enemy, and most of the planet was destroyed.
The people of Centauri pleaded their senshi to hide for safety; there was nothing much left of the planet to be worth attacking, but the people would survive just fine. If their senshi left, who knew if the enemy would return to kill the senshi it had left behind.
Idande and Sanjay agreed, and left for a place of relative safety, where the people were like themselves: Earth.
On earth, they have managed to recuperate well enough, and they are established in their private school they've chosen to attend. They earn enough money to survive through outside jobs.
