This page is dedicated to none other than the KuroKasa (um...black....chinese hat...), Jine Udou (or Jinne, or Jin-e...), from RurouniKenshin!!! This psychotic assassin is shrouded in mystery! If you don't want the Jine story to be spoiled though, don't read this!
Here he is now!
The eyes, the eyes!!! Since ten years, this murderer hasn't encoutered one failure. Now, he's killing men who used to be patriots...apparently for pleasure. The police are unable to stop him (when he appeared in Shizuoka, there was 34 corspes and 56 injured...) So they call Kenshin! Jine send menacing leeters to his victims and enjoys killing the most protected ones. Survivors say that , even though they were well armed, they were attacked as they were paralyzed. Of course, Kenshin (yes, the encyclopedia of attacks...) knows that he is using the control techinique of the NikaidouHeihou school. Even Sano says that he hs the look of a crazy man when he sees him. The NikaidouHeihou speciality is three positions of the sword (-, | and +), but the worst technique would be the control technique, since it can paralyse even the breathing of the victim! Well, kenshin wanted to beat him the first time they met, but finally he just ended up being his new target...um, ok, as planned.

When he's hypnotyzed... Jine's mini-history paragraph!
Jine first was with the ShinsenGumi, sworn ennemies of the patriot. He killed lot of them...but also poeple that could've lived...So he ran away from the sanctions and became a Patriot! His only pleasure is to kill. We don't know when, but sometimes between the end of the Edo period and that time, he mastered the techniques of the NikaidouHeihou school. He also killed a lot of poeple, so that makes a big difference between him and Kenshin.

Now back to what's happening
Since she is very easy to capture, Jine kidnapped Kaoru in front of Kenshin's eyes and gives him a challenge. He has to become the HitokiriBattousai (assassin swordwielder...kind of...) so he can be the ideal adversary. Because if he was the wanderer, he could kill him too easily. So at midnight, the new and improved Kenshin arrives to face Jine. The fight is ok, but the Hitokiri is not fully back yet. So Jine decides to paralyze Kaoru so she can't breathe (suits her right ;} ) to really make him angry. Well it works and he sees that, well, he's a bit in trouble. To he auto-hypnotyzes himself to be stronger. (that's what the control technique's all about, I'll spare you the details.) Kenshin uses what seems to be the battou technique. Jine can avoid it...but not the sheath that he hadn't expected. His elbow and nerves are broken/paralyzed. He's also about to be killed (oh no!)...but then Kaoru vanquishes the hypnosis and stops Kenshin from killing him and becoming the Hitokiri again...
Jine stands up and goes behind Kenshin. He raises his sword...and kills himself! (saying, "I love this!"...how cool^^).

He did that so the ones who hired him wouldn't be found. There are still assassins...evil mercenaries...at the beginning of the Meiji period. He also had no reason to live. His broken arm meant he could never use his sword, and killing ~was the meaning of his life...Hey, the ultimate killing of himself is a pretty good ending, ne? "An assassin is always an assassin. I'll check on you from Hell" were is last words...he died laughing (what a guy^^)

Extra Jine things...um...actually the Caracter design notes from the manga^^!
His original model was Izou Okada, the most famous assassin of the Edo period., but finally he ended up differently. He's the opposite of Kenshin! A real psychopatic serial killer. Although he lost against the Hittokiri, he's the only caracter (at that time) that has won again Kenshin. His suicide is just the ultimate kill.
As for his visual model...well, I'd have to say Gambit from the X-men. Nobuhiro Watsuki, creator of Kenshin, is a HUGE fan of American comics, and since he saw a picture, he collects everything on him. he says the eyes with a black retina and white pupils are ones of a true psychopath (could you guess that he was supposed to be the villain of the week of psycho week^.~?). His clothes are taken from an old manga on the ShinsenGumi.
