SOLDIERs first class, Sephiroth and Zack, accompanied by 3 Shinra soldiers arrive in Nibelheim to investigate a malfunctiuning Mako reactor. But then the worst happens: Sephiroth discovers the awful secret of the reactors, the J.E.N.O.V.A. project. He figures out that he was just created with the genes of Jenova and Mako, after reading all about the project in the Shinra mansion. He goes mad and completely burns the city and kills a lot of poeple. He goes back to the Mako reactor and takes his mother's head. But then one of the Shinra soldiers comes and throws him in the raw Mako energy.

Since then, his past was locked away in secret files and rumors say that he has disappeared in battle.

But then he returns to get his mother back to get revenge on humanity! He kills president Shinra and escapes. He runs from town to town, followed by the Turks and Cloud and co. His first goal is to get the Black Materia. With Cloud as his puppet, he succeeds. But the Black Materia can be countered! The sole surviving Cetra, Aeris, tries to stop him by conjuring Holy but he kills her and escapes again.

His new destination is the North cave. There, after having it stolen from him, he gets Cloud to give back the Black Materia, again! This unleashes the Weapons. He then buries himself in a scar on the planet and calls Meteor with the Black Materia. He stays there, gathering more and more nergy, until the final battle, where he will face a simple Shinra soldier once more.

-Weapon:Long sword/Masamune.
-Birth: He was born from Lucrecia and Hojo, with the help of a lot of Mako energy and Jenova cells.
-He is the best of all SOLDIERs, ever.
