Ties To Sailor Sun:
In the past, Prince Darien was romantically involved with Sailor Sun's charge, Princess Soloris. Currently, Darien is involved with Adana.  He thinks he loves her, but is torn between his duty to the future and his love for Adana.  He is trying to help Sailor Sun in every way possible, including lying to the sailor scouts about her identity after he learns the truth. Eventhough Adana's health is failing, he is by her side every minute possible.
