Jewish History

This is a history of the early Greek settlers on Oceana before they split into various independent city-states, small kingdoms and confederations. This section ends at the time the first split in Greek colonies occurs.

Time Line

History Overview

The Jews arrived in Oceana in 220 CE. They found themselves in a world that was in many ways not all that different from the Roman Empire they had left. The language spoken by the natives was a form of Greek, and understandable. .

Initial Political Setup

The Jews arrived on Oceana to find a thriving almost world wide society. The society was not all that different from the Roman Empire they had been plucked from. The major differences were the additional sentient races on Oceana, different gods & goddesses who were very visiably involved in the world and magic.

Early Colonies

The Jews were not really colonizers. Their population was to small initially to create their own colonies. Instead they settled in existing cities and country-sides in the same way they had after the Roman Diasporia. It wasn't until many generations later that Jewish groups joined colonizing groups.

Later Colonies

The Jews became active traders and created many small enclaves in the colonies that other city-states had founded. They were, and are, a minority almost everywhere, albeit a sizable and noticable minority.
