The Unformed Lands Character Restrictions

BESM, the chosen game rules system, is a point buy system of attributes, abilities and disabilities. As such, to keep the game world viable, not all of the BESM abilities or disabilities are permitted. Even more of the abilities and disabilities are limited as to what level they may be taken at.

Banned Abilities

• Astral Projection - At present there is no astral plane to project into.
• Dimensional Portal - There are no portals between The Unformed Lands and any other universe including pocket universes. Nor are there portals between different places in the Unformed Lands.
• Divine Relationship - Currently banned as there are no gods in The Unformed Lands at the moment.
• Space Flight - There is no outer space to travel to, or at least not technologically reachable.
• Spirit Ward - I have to read the details on this one.
• Star Flight - There is no outer space to travel to, or at least not technologically reachable.
• Teleportion - There is no teleportation. Movement has to be through normal space.

Banned Disabilities

Limited Abilities

• Flight - Flight is limited to level 3 (100 kph). All flight is magical such as broom, carpet or such.
• Ground Speed - Limited to level 1 (100 kph).
• Mechanical Genius - limited by tech level background of character.
• Own A Big Mecha - Limited by the technology availiable. While any mecha could be created from the stuff of The Unformed Lands, the creator must know enough about the technology behind any creatation to actually make it. The big exception to this are battle suits. Mecha must be strictly magical or real world tech or a combination of the two. Steampunk or clockwork punk, or similar, must be real world viable or have the specific difference done by magic.
• Magic / Psionics and Dynamic Sorcery - limitations depend upon background.

Limited Disabilities

• Ageism - limitation depending upon background. One or two point agism availiable for characters from a mage domain. All characters from the same mir must take the same ageism disability if any is taken.
